Medical Acupuncture is also often referred to as Dry Needling and should not be confused with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Medical Acupuncture can be used to treat Musculoskeletal Conditions (Soft Tissue Injuries). It can be used on both acute and chronic conditions to reduce pain and promote recovery.

What's Involved?

Medical Acupuncture needles are placed into Tigger Points or within the belly of the muscle. This causes the brain to produce its natural painkillers, increase blood flow to the area and reduce tension in the area. During the acute phase of the injury needles will be left in place for between 2 to 5 minutes. If the injury has become chronic the needles can be left in place for 10 to 15 minutes.

Medical Acupuncture

Generally Medical Acupuncture will be used in conjunction with manual therapy techniques such as Sports Massage.

Medical Acupuncture does not claim to treat everything as each treatment is tailored to the specific requirements of the patients and the treatment plan.
